This collection of 18 marker pen drawings, sized A2 or A1, document London artist James Cyril Gardiner’s  travels and resultant idiosyncratic captures of typical city scenes. He presents structures and scenes as three-dimensional, greyscale solid forms, yet the addition of ‘transparent’ outline figures on top hint at the fragility and lack of permanence of all our existence. This, coupled with a flash of primary colour, gives James’ drawings a unique and somewhat haunting, almost melancholic feel.
